This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months, working 4 days a week

Reporting into World Headquarters Legal, the UK Corporate Legal Counsel will focus on the UK working closely with the UK steering team, to advise and guide the business in commercial matters


  • Provide advice and guidance on complex corporate transactions including acquisitions and business-related disputes as well as acting as a subject matter expert on a range of commercial issues.
  • Review, create and negotiate key commercial contracts, NDA’s and SLA’s across the customer and supply base, alongside key stakeholders in the business, ensuring all commercial contracts comply will statutory and regulatory requirements.  
  • Attend meetings and negotiations with customers/suppliers and other 3rd parties where necessary and appropriate and act in the interests of the business.
  • Deliver effective and pragmatic legal support and advice across the leadership team on relevant commercial, legal issues for goods, services and where appropriate property matters.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, letters, contracts, statements, confidentiality agreements tailored to the needs of the business.
  • Safeguard commercial legal compliance with the internal controls, statutory regulations and other formalities.
  • Create in-house training on legal matters to commercial and supplier-facing teams and other departments as appropriate.  Coaching and training on matters to include contract law, IP protection, negotiation, terminology, compliance and ‘what not to say’ to improve and further enhance the teams understanding of their legal position, risks etc as well as best practice.

  • Member of the Law Society with a current unrestricted practising certificate and in-depth knowledge of Corporate, Administrative, Contractual and Tort Law and procedures 
  • Good organisational, prioritisation and time-management skills with the agility to manage a significant workload with multiple cases/matters
  • First class negotiation, arbitration, and mediation skills
  • Ability to effectively translate complex concepts into everyday language for non-experts and make the law simple
  • Intellectual curious with strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Commercially astute with a professional approach to work
  • Has presence and works with integrity
  • Naturally collaborative, with the ability to influence and gain commitment quickly at all levels
  • Demonstrates drive, commitment and a passion for the business
