This role works with a combination of early and late shift patterns –  38 hours a week, early shifts (06:15 to 16:15) and late shifts (10:00 to 20:00) working 4 days per week, including 1 in 4 weekends

Based at their beautiful 50-acre estate, the HR/Workforce team are looking for a self-motivated, practical and friendly Resource Planner to actively manage the staff rotas across the organisation to ensure the best utilisation of resource to support their young people with severe autism. 

You will be responsible for the daily deployment of agency resources and the re-deployment of Prior’s Court resources to ensure safe levels of staffing are always maintained. Using data and insight, you will influence other internal functions to improve resource levels; ensuring that the organisations resourcing priorities are met. 

Working collaboratively and supportively with the management and leadership teams to ensure resources are well-planned and issues are tackled well in advance will be paramount to your success. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the rota systems within Prior’s Court; identify overages and shortages in staffing levels and resolve these to ensure an optimal and safe staffing level is always maintained across site.
  • Work closely with the care, education, and leadership teams to plan and deploy staff as required to fulfil demand across all employee types: full-time, part-time, variable and seasonal workers.
  • Deploy preferred agency staff after internal options have been exhausted and deliver upon business budgets or agency staff objectives. 
  • Meet regularly with Managers and Leadership teams to discuss resourcing requirements, challenges and agree solutions to staffing issues.
  • Manage the daily deployment of Agency staff into homes to ensure optimal and safe coverage with the resources available (supported by Duty Manager).
  • As required, conduct re-deployment of Prior’s Court staff to ensure that we move skills and experience across site to better support our Young People (supported by Duty Manager).
  • Process first stage Annual Leave requests to ensure that site coverage is not put at risk should the line manager approve during second stage approval.
  • Process all staff absences into the relevant systems and plan staff backfill if required.
  • In conjunction with the Flexible Working Manager; build relationships and support open communication channels with flexible staff to increase their availability to work. 

About You

You will need exceptional planning and analytical skills, supported by excellent organisational and administrative capabilities. The ability to build trusted relationships and resolve daily operational issues with a sense of humour will be essential for success in this role.  Experience in residential care is advantageous.
