We’re now looking for an Accounts & Office Administrator to join our small Commercial Team, supporting the business with accurate financial processing and efficient administrative coordination. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to study their AAT, training and support provided or just someone looking to develop their career in a small finance team.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll play a key role in our day-to-day finance operations, ensuring that transactions are processed accurately and efficiently using SAGE Line 50. Whether you’re managing sales and purchase ledgers, assisting with cashflow reporting, or handling reconciliations, your attention to detail will keep our financial processes running smoothly.

You’ll also support wider business operations—setting up client and supplier accounts, ordering supplies, processing expenses, and maintaining training and facilities records. It’s a role that offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a meaningful impact across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all finance and business-related queries, ensuring efficient and professional support.
  • Perform day-to-day transactional accounting using SAGE Line 50 and assist with transitioning to new finance system as needed.
  • Manage Sales Ledger processes including application invoicing and credit control to optimise cash flow and working capital.
  • Contribute to the preparation and accuracy of weekly cashflow reporting.
  • Manage the Purchase Ledger, including invoice matching, reconciliation, and supplier statement reviews.
  • Source and order approved overhead supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money.
  • Complete detailed reconciliations for bank accounts (GBP & EUR), credit cards, petty cash, ledgers, and nominal accounts.
  • Set up and maintain accounts for new clients and suppliers with accuracy.
  • Process authorised staff expenses in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Commercial Team, including:
  • Coordinating H&S training via the internal platform and monitoring completion rates
  • Updating and tracking facilities review schedules, notifying stakeholders as needed

What we’re looking for:

You’re methodical, organised, and thrive on working with precision. With at least a year’s finance experience under your belt, you’re confident managing both accounts payable and receivable, and you’re not afraid to challenge processes to improve outcomes. You’re a strong communicator, commercially aware, and above all, have a “can do” attitude and pride in doing things right.

Essential Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year’s finance experience (AP/AR)
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organised, process-oriented, and proactive
  • Great communication skills and a collaborative approach

Why join Cobal?
