About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Estates, the Estates General Manager will lead the operational delivery of Hard FM services across a large, complex defence estate in Wiltshire.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for ensuring engineering maintenance programmes, asset lifecycle management, and compliance services are delivered to the highest standards. You’ll lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets, and drive service excellence—all while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and meeting contractual KPIs.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Hard FM services delivery (planned, reactive, and compliance) across the estate.
- Oversee asset lifecycle management and engineering maintenance programmes.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, driving efficiencies and ensuring service excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
- Ensure robust compliance with H&S regulations and assurance frameworks.
About You
- Experienced facilities or estates management professional, ideally in defence, government, or other secure environments.
- Relevant professional qualifications (preferably M&E discipline).
- Membership of a recognised technical institution (expected).
- Proven experience leading large, multi-site operational teams in Hard FM or technical services.
- Strong track record managing compliance, health & safety, and assurance frameworks.
- Excellent communicator with the gravitas to manage stakeholder relationships and contractor performance.
- Eligible for (or already holding) SC-level security clearance.
