We are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer, with a flexible working style and excellent planning and organisational skills to join our HR Shared Services team. During an exciting time for the business with the implementation of a new 3rd party payroll provider, this role will be providing continuing transitional support and payroll implementation.  We can offer flexible working, including the ability to work from home two days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Payroll Officer, support with the full monthly payroll cycle, including processing starters and leavers, calculating SMP, embedding a process for the flexi hours and bonus calculations
  • Manage auto-enrolment files, and the administration of RTI including P9 and student loans
  • Assist with period-end reporting and calculating and processing monthly holiday pay
  • Induct new starters, create new shift patterns and users in the Time and Attendance system
  • Pension administration, monitor absence/total hours work, complete leavers forms, and create new suppliers
  • Review, create and update payroll processes
  • Support in calculating transition values for absence

Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Minimum two years’ payroll processing experience
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, make decisions and prioritise workload effectively
  • A dedicated team player who can also perform tasks independently
  • Customer focussed with a ‘can-do’ approach to problem solving
  • Understanding of Payroll legislation
  • Experience working with iHCM2 (ADP) an advantage.
